The Experience

Hi! We are an Italian family of four (with two guys of 12 and 16 years old). We live in Rapallo, near to the Cinque Terre, Portofino and Genoa, in a country house with a large garden and a beautiful sea view! We have been hosting for some time and we understand that the team is successful when there is good education, responsibility and a lot of desire to spend time together to share different cultures

This was my first time in a family and it was amazing! From the second I arrived I was welcomed with open arms and during my time Simona, Maurizio, Alessio and Lorenzo showed me nothing but love. I learned a lot from them, not only about cooking or Italy, but also about life and how important it is to spend time together as a family. They taught me a lot about their culture and also showed a great interest in mine. Simona and Maurizio are amazing people and super helpful. The boys are the sweetest and so funny, you'll always have a good time with them! Thank you for everything! See you soon<33

This was my first time staying with a host family and it has truly been a great experience. From the very beginning Simona and her family welcomed me with open arms, they were very communicative and flexible throughout the whole month. I really appreciated them letting me into their the home and sharing their culture with me, as well as them being interested by my culture and wanting to know more about it. Really recommend it and see you in May! :)

I couldn't have asked for a more special experience. From the first day, I was welcomed like a part of the family; Simona and her family provided the safest space, they were so curious about my life, and paid close attention to my needs and interests. I learned valuable lessons in culture and cuisine, aswell as the importance of family time, and conversations were always crammed with interesting history and stories. The family are hilarious too, I spent everyday laughing at their jokes and stories! I will never ever forget this trip, and am counting down the days until I can hopefully return❤️

Staying with this family was one of the best experiences of my life. They welcomed me from the very first day and treated me as a daughter and sister. They communicated thoroughly before the trip to ensure that everyone felt comfortable before we all shared a space. Living there I learned the importance of family to its core. How vital a shared meal is and how food can be a bonding element. They encouraged me to travel to the towns near by and helped me to plan my trips on my days off. Everything they did was out of love and I could not have asked for a better family to share this time with.

This was my first Worldpackers experience and I feel so lucky for getting such a wonderful gig right off the bat! 😊 Simona and her family are so welcoming and kind, and the boys are so curious about the world and so much fun to be around. Though I came during a bit of an odd time (quarantine) they were so hospitable and treated me like part of the family. Actually, getting to spend Easter with them is one of my new favorite memories ❤️ This was an incredible experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves spending time with kids and has a passion for teaching English!
