The Experience

I am David Nina aged 34yrs and I have a project in my maasai community that is titled Elong'o Eretoto meaning a shield to protect. To elaborate, I am against early marriages and fgm among girls and I support widows and orphans in the community. I want to host volunteers who are willing to join me in making this a success for the benefit of the community and not for my personal interest. *Click on learn more for more information*

David Nina is a cool person and a very good speaker. He has a great vision and is doing a lot of things for the welfare of his community. He is helping young girls from early child marriages and FGM by rescuing them and building a rescue centre. He is also helping his community by building a hospital which is the basic essential need of the people living there. Apart from the initiatives, he also gave us the experience of the Maasai culture and the authentic Maasai tradition. I liked the place and can't wait to be back soon. I wish good luck to David and his initiative to achieve great heights

Staying with David Nina through Worldpackers was an absolute delight! From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed into their home and their community. David went above and beyond to ensure I had a comfortable and enriching experience. Their passion for sustainability and cultural exchange is truly inspiring. I learned so much during my stay, not only about the project but also about the local Maasai culture and way of life. The accommodations were clean and comfortable, and the work was both meaningful and fulfilling.

I decided to do this volunteering because of the social impact that I believed it offered, however, its lack of planning doesn't offer what it says. I didn't have the chance to meet the rescued girls, didn't do any activity that the profile mentioned and I even got scammed by the host.. I can't recommend this project.. Despite the bad experience the wife of David is lovable so are the children. But regarding to the project they will only appreciate your financial help not manual and time, if you truly want to make an impact look for something else. I had to leave early because of my safety.
